  • STEP 1.To make the filling, cook lentils until soft and then mash them. Add jaggery, cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder to the mashed lentils and mix well.
  • STEP 2.To make the dough, combine flour, ghee, and water in a bowl. Knead until a smooth dough is formed. Divide the dough into small balls.
  • STEP 3.Take a dough ball and roll it out into a small circle. Place a spoonful of the lentil filling in the center and fold the edges of the dough to seal the filling.
  • STEP 4.Gently roll out the filled dough ball into a flatbread, taking care not to let the filling spill out. Cook the Puran Poli on a hot griddle until golden brown on both sides.
  • STEP 5.Serve the Puran Poli warm with ghee or milk. It can be enjoyed as a dessert or as a snack.
